1. Welcome

Thank you for using KanoonGPT. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain how you may use our website, apps, and related services (the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Your Account

2.1 Registration. You may need an account to access certain features. Please use accurate contact details (such as a valid email and mobile number). We may send a one-time password (OTP) or similar check so we can confirm that the details belong to you.

2.2 Keeping your account safe. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details private. Please do not share your password or OTP with others. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us as soon as you can so we can help secure it.

2.3 Fair use of sessions. To protect accounts and platform quality, we may limit concurrent logins or active sessions per account. If unusual multi-device use suggests account sharing or abuse, we may ask you to sign in again, pause access temporarily, or take other reasonable steps after review. We aim to resolve genuine cases fairly with you.

3. Plans, Billing & Access

3.1 Plans. Pro features may be offered as a paid short intro with monthly auto-debit, a monthly auto-debit plan, and/or an annual one-time plan. Current prices, trial or intro terms, and payment methods are shown clearly at checkout.

3.2 Auto-debit. Where you choose a UPI Autopay (or similar) plan, renewals are charged automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel auto-debit from your account settings. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro for the period you have already paid for. Details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

3.3 Fees & refunds. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or as described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy (including any goodwill refund option stated there).

3.4 Licence, not ownership. A paid or free plan gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Services and content for lawful research and learning. You do not acquire ownership of our software, data, or content.

4. Changes to Plans or Features

We may update plans, pricing, or features over time to improve the product. Where a change is material, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable (for example by email or in-product notice). Price changes for recurring plans typically apply from the next billing cycle after notice.

5. Acceptable Use

We built KanoonGPT for genuine legal research and learning. To keep the platform reliable for everyone, please do not:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract content without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to bypass security or access controls.
  • Access systems, APIs, or data you are not authorised to use.
  • Use unauthorised bots or automation in a way that harms performance or circumvents usage limits (ordinary browser use and our own product features are fine).
  • Misuse the Services for unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent purposes.

If we reasonably believe an account is harming the Services or other users, we may limit or suspend access and contact you to resolve the issue. Serious or repeated misuse may lead to termination. We prefer to work with customers in good faith whenever possible.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep the Services available and useful. Like any online product, we cannot promise uninterrupted access at all times. We may perform maintenance or updates; where feasible, we will try to minimise disruption and give notice for planned work.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our rights. The Services—including software, branding, design, and curated content we provide—are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7.2 Your use. You may use the Services for your own lawful professional or personal research. Please do not copy, resell, or redistribute our platform or bulk content as a competing product without permission.

8. AI-Assisted Content

KanoonGPT uses AI and automated tools to help you research Indian law faster. Outputs can still contain gaps or mistakes. The Services are a research aid, not a substitute for qualified legal advice or your own professional judgment. Please verify important points against primary sources. If something looks wrong, we welcome your feedback so we can improve.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, KanoonGPT and its team are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Services (for example, lost profits or data). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including for fraud or personal injury where such limits are not allowed.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it amicably. If needed, disputes may be resolved by arbitration in New Delhi under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, unless applicable consumer law gives you a different forum.
