UP PCS-J preparation must cover General Knowledge, Hindi, English and three full law papers, plus Prelims screening. Many candidates fail language papers after clearing law MCQs—balance the timetable early.

Prelims strategy

  • Paper I GK: polity, history, geography, economy, science, current affairs (as per syllabus heads).
  • Paper II Law: daily Bare Act MCQs on Constitution, CPC, BNS/BNSS/BSA, contract, property, evidence.
  • Full-length timed mocks in the last month.

Mains strategy

  1. Law-I — substantive civil and constitutional writing.
  2. Law-II — CPC, evidence, criminal procedure problem questions.
  3. Law-III — BNS plus U.P. local/revenue Acts from the official list.
  4. Hindi & English — weekly essays, précis, translation practice.
