Recruitment pathways
Indian Legal Service induction is notification-driven. Routes have included UPSC-based recruitment and other government mechanisms depending on grade and year. There is no permanent annual calendar comparable to the CSE.
Preparation that transfers well across notifications includes constitutional and administrative law, legislative process awareness, government litigation practice, and fluency in the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, together with arbitration and commercial statutes.
