Delhi Judicial Service preparation has to clear a high Prelims cut-off and then produce Mains-quality written answers under time pressure. Vacancy counts are small relative to the applicant pool; bare-Act accuracy and past-paper familiarity separate serious attempts from casual ones.
Phase A — Prelims (8–12 weeks if already law-ready)
- Finish one full pass of core Bare Acts.
- Daily MCQ sets on Constitution, CPC, crime, procedure, evidence and contract.
- Solve Delhi High Court previous Prelims papers (available on the High Court site for recent years).
- Track weak areas weekly; do not ignore GK if the scheme includes it.
Target: comfortable score above the historical general-category qualifying percentage, not merely “clearing by luck”.
Phase B — Mains writing
- Practise issue–provision–application–conclusion answers on short fact patterns.
- Time full papers (civil, criminal, constitutional / language as per scheme).
- Maintain a section notebook for CPC Orders and BNSS bail/trial chapters.
- Read quality judgments for structure, not for citation stuffing.
