Explanation using Example
Imagine a group of 15 factory workers who have decided to form a trade union to address their collective concerns regarding workplace safety and wages. They draft the rules for their union and gather to subscribe their names as founding members. Since there are over 300 workers in the factory, they need to ensure they have at least 30 members (10% of 300) to comply with the Trade Unions Act, 1926. They manage to get 35 of their coworkers to join, satisfying the requirement.
After submitting their application for registration, two members decide to leave the union. However, according to the Act, their application remains valid because the number of members who left does not exceed half of the original 15 founding members who applied. Therefore, the union's registration process can continue without being affected by the departure of these two individuals.
