Explanation using Example
Imagine a scenario where an employer at a textile factory decides to retaliate against a worker who has recently joined a trade union by arbitrarily reducing their hours, with the intention of discouraging union membership among the workforce. This action would constitute an unfair labor practice under Section 25T of The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. By doing so, the employer would be violating the law, as it prohibits both employers and workers from engaging in any form of unfair labor practice, including discrimination against union members.
