Example 1:

Rahul owns a small business that manufactures and sells electronic gadgets. To increase his sales, he starts using a well-known brand's logo on his products without their permission. Customers, believing they are buying a product from the reputed brand, purchase Rahul's gadgets. When the brand discovers this, they file a complaint against Rahul for using a false property mark. Under Section 482 of the Indian Penal Code, Rahul can be punished with imprisonment for up to one year, or with a fine, or both, unless he can prove that he did not intend to defraud the customers or the brand.

Example 2:

Meena runs a local clothing store and decides to sell her own line of designer sarees. To make her sarees appear more valuable, she attaches tags that falsely claim the sarees are made by a famous designer. Customers buy the sarees thinking they are getting designer wear at a bargain price. When the real designer finds out, they take legal action against Meena for using a false property mark. According to Section 482 of the Indian Penal Code, Meena faces the possibility of imprisonment for up to one year, a fine, or both, unless she can prove that she did not intend to deceive the customers or the designer.
