Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi sees a bicycle parked outside a shop. He waits until the shopkeeper is busy with customers and then takes the bicycle without the shopkeeper's consent, intending to keep it for himself. Here, Ravi has committed theft as he has taken the bicycle out of the shopkeeper's possession dishonestly.

Example 2:

Priya finds a wallet on a bench in a public park. The wallet contains cash and identification cards. Instead of trying to find the owner or handing it over to the authorities, Priya decides to keep the wallet and the money. Here, Priya has committed theft as she has taken the wallet out of the owner's possession dishonestly.

Example 3:

Arjun, a gardener, is employed by Mr. Sharma to take care of his garden. One day, Arjun digs up a valuable plant from Mr. Sharma's garden and takes it home without Mr. Sharma's consent, intending to sell it. Arjun has committed theft as he has taken the plant out of Mr. Sharma's possession dishonestly.

Example 4:

Sunita, a domestic worker, is entrusted with the keys to her employer's house. One day, she takes a gold necklace from her employer's jewelry box without permission, intending to pawn it for money. Sunita has committed theft as she has taken the necklace out of her employer's possession dishonestly.

Example 5:

Raj, a delivery person, is given a package to deliver to a customer. Instead of delivering it, Raj opens the package and takes the contents for himself. Raj has committed theft as he has taken the contents of the package out of the customer's possession dishonestly.

Example 6:

Meera sees a stray dog on the street and decides to take it home. She later finds out that the dog belongs to her neighbor, Mr. Gupta, but she decides to keep it anyway. Meera has committed theft as she has taken the dog out of Mr. Gupta's possession dishonestly.

Example 7:

Vikram, a student, borrows a book from the school library. Instead of returning it, he decides to keep it for his personal collection. Vikram has committed theft as he has taken the book out of the library's possession dishonestly.

Example 8:

Anil, a shop assistant, is given the responsibility of handling cash transactions. One day, he takes some money from the cash register without his employer's consent, intending to use it for personal expenses. Anil has committed theft as he has taken the money out of his employer's possession dishonestly.

Example 9:

Kavita finds a smartphone lying on a table in a café. Instead of trying to find the owner, she takes the smartphone and uses it as her own. Kavita has committed theft as she has taken the smartphone out of the owner's possession dishonestly.
