Explanation using Example
Example 1:
Ravi, a fisherman in Kerala, intentionally steers his boat towards the shore and runs it aground. His plan is to steal the valuable cargo of spices and electronics that the boat is carrying. He waits until nightfall and then starts unloading the goods to sell them in the black market. Ravi is caught by the coastal police while unloading the stolen items. Under Section 439 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Ravi can be punished with imprisonment for up to ten years and may also be fined for his actions.
Example 2:
In the port city of Mumbai, a shipping company employee named Suresh conspires with a group of thieves to run a cargo ship aground. The ship is carrying expensive machinery and electronics. Suresh intentionally navigates the ship towards a shallow area near the coast, causing it to get stuck. The thieves then board the ship and start stealing the cargo. However, the authorities are alerted and catch the thieves in the act. Suresh, along with the thieves, is charged under Section 439 of the Indian Penal Code 1860. They face imprisonment for up to ten years and may also be fined for their criminal activities.
