Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi, a disgruntled employee, sets fire to his employer's warehouse containing electronic goods. The fire causes damage worth Rs. 50,000. Under Section 435 of the Indian Penal Code, Ravi can be charged with mischief by fire with intent to cause damage exceeding one hundred rupees. If found guilty, he could face imprisonment for up to seven years and a fine.

Example 2:

Suresh, a farmer, is involved in a land dispute with his neighbor, Ramesh. In a fit of rage, Suresh uses an explosive substance to destroy Ramesh's wheat crop, causing damage worth Rs. 500. Since the damaged property is agricultural produce and the damage exceeds ten rupees, Suresh can be charged under Section 435 of the Indian Penal Code. If convicted, he could be sentenced to imprisonment for up to seven years and a fine.
