Example 1:

A woman named Priya is seven months pregnant. Her husband, Raj, does not want the child to be born. Raj secretly administers a harmful substance to Priya with the intention of causing a miscarriage. As a result, Priya suffers a miscarriage, and the child is not born alive. Raj's actions are not done in good faith to save Priya's life but rather to prevent the child from being born. Under Section 315 of the Indian Penal Code, Raj can be punished with imprisonment for up to ten years, a fine, or both.
