Example 1:

Ravi, a businessman, suspects that his employee, Suresh, has stolen a significant amount of money from the company's safe. In an attempt to recover the stolen money, Ravi and his associates forcibly take Suresh to a secluded location and beat him severely, causing multiple fractures and internal injuries. They demand that Suresh confess to the theft and reveal the location of the stolen money. This act of causing grievous hurt to extort a confession and information about the stolen property falls under Section 331 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Example 2:

Priya's family believes that her brother, Raj, has hidden a valuable family heirloom to sell it secretly. To compel Raj to return the heirloom, Priya's family members tie him up and inflict severe physical harm, including breaking his fingers and causing deep cuts. They threaten to continue the torture until Raj restores the heirloom.
