Example 1:
Rajesh is driving his car at a very high speed through a crowded market area in Mumbai. He is weaving in and out of traffic, ignoring traffic signals, and narrowly missing pedestrians. His reckless driving causes a pedestrian to jump out of the way, resulting in the pedestrian falling and injuring their arm. Rajesh's actions are considered rash and negligent, endangering human life and causing injury. Under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code, Rajesh can be punished with imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to one thousand rupees, or both.
Example 2:
Priya is riding her motorcycle on a busy road in Delhi. She is texting on her phone while riding and not paying attention to the road. Due to her negligence, she fails to notice a red light and speeds through the intersection, almost hitting a cyclist who had the right of way. The cyclist swerves to avoid her and falls, sustaining minor injuries. Priya's negligent riding on a public way has endangered human life and caused injury. According to Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code, Priya can face imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to one thousand rupees, or both.
