Despite being advised by doctors to quarantine himself, Ravi continues to attend public gatherings and use public transportation. His actions are likely to spread the infection to others. Under Section 269 of the Indian Penal Code, Ravi can be punished for his negligent behavior that endangers public health.
Example 2:
Sita, who runs a small bakery in Delhi, is aware that she has contracted tuberculosis, a disease dangerous to life. Despite knowing this, she continues to work in her bakery, handling food items without taking any precautions. Her negligence in not isolating herself and continuing to work in a public setting can lead to the spread of the disease to her customers. Under Section 269 of the Indian Penal Code, Sita can be held liable for her actions and face imprisonment, a fine, or both.
