Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi, a skilled metalworker, creates a die that can be used to produce counterfeit coins. He knows that his friend, Arjun, plans to use this die to make fake Rs. 10 coins. Despite knowing Arjun's intentions, Ravi sells the die to him. Under Section 233 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Ravi can be punished with imprisonment for up to three years and may also be fined for making and selling an instrument intended for counterfeiting coins.

Example 2:

Priya, a technician, repairs a machine that is specifically designed to mint counterfeit Rs. 5 coins. She is aware that the machine will be used for illegal purposes but proceeds with the repair anyway. Under Section 233 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Priya can be punished with imprisonment for up to three years and may also be fined for mending an instrument intended for counterfeiting coins.
