Example 1:

Ravi is involved in a property dispute with his neighbor, Suresh. To strengthen his case, Ravi submits a forged property deed to the court, claiming it as genuine evidence. Ravi knows that the deed is fake, but he uses it to mislead the court. Under Section 196 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Ravi can be punished for using false evidence, just as if he had fabricated the false deed himself.

Example 2:

Priya is a witness in a criminal trial where her friend, Anil, is accused of theft. To help Anil, Priya presents a fake alibi, claiming that Anil was with her at the time of the theft. Priya knows that the alibi is false, but she uses it to try to prove Anil's innocence. According to Section 196 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, Priya can be punished for using false evidence, just as if she had created the false alibi herself.
