Example 1:
Rahul, a civilian, has a friend named Vijay who is a soldier in the Indian Army. Rahul is unhappy with a superior officer, Major Singh, because he believes Major Singh is unfairly treating Vijay. Rahul encourages Vijay to confront and assault Major Singh while he is performing his duties. Vijay, influenced by Rahul's encouragement, assaults Major Singh. In this scenario, Rahul has abetted the assault, and if the assault is committed as a result of Rahul's abetment, Rahul can be punished under Section 134 of the Indian Penal Code with imprisonment for up to seven years and may also be fined.
Example 2:
Priya, a sailor in the Indian Navy, is frequently reprimanded by her superior officer, Commander Sharma, for her lack of discipline. Priya's friend, Anil, who is a civilian, suggests that Priya should physically confront Commander Sharma to teach him a lesson. Anil even goes as far as to provide Priya with a plan on how to carry out the assault. Priya follows Anil's advice and assaults Commander Sharma while he is on duty. In this case, Anil has abetted the assault, and if the assault is committed due to Anil's abetment, Anil can be held liable under Section 134 of the Indian Penal Code and face imprisonment for up to seven years and a possible fine.
