Ravi, a local leader, distributes pamphlets in a crowded market area, urging the public to gather at a specific location to protest against a new government policy. He encourages them to vandalize government property during the protest. The pamphlets reach hundreds of people, and more than ten individuals act on Ravi's instigation and damage public property. Ravi has committed the offence defined in Section 117 of the Indian Penal Code 1860.

Example 2:

Priya, a social media influencer, posts a video on her popular channel, calling for her followers to gather and disrupt a religious ceremony of a different community. Her followers, numbering more than ten, heed her call and create a ruckus at the ceremony, leading to violence and property damage. Priya has abetted the commission of an offence by more than ten persons and is liable under Section 117 of the Indian Penal Code 1860.
