Explanation using Example

Example 1:

Ravi and Suresh plan to break into a house to steal valuables. Ravi knows how to disable the security system, and Suresh is aware of the house's layout. They both agree to commit the burglary. During the act, Ravi disables the security system, and Suresh collects the valuables. Here, both Ravi and Suresh have criminal knowledge and intention to commit burglary. According to Section 35 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, both are equally liable for the crime, as if each had committed the burglary alone.

Example 2:

Priya and Anil decide to cheat in their university exams. Priya obtains the exam paper beforehand through illegal means, and Anil helps her by providing answers. Both Priya and Anil have the criminal intention to cheat and gain unfair advantage. When they are caught, under Section 35 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, both Priya and Anil are equally responsible for the act of cheating, as if each had committed the act alone with the same criminal knowledge and intention.
