Explanation using Example
Imagine a local bakery, "Sweet Treats," that produces and sells a variety of pastries and bread. The owner, Mr. Brown, is a food business operator who must comply with Section 26 of The Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Under (1), Mr. Brown ensures that his bakery's products meet the Act's standards throughout the baking and selling process. He regularly checks the quality of ingredients and maintains cleanliness in the bakery to prevent food contamination.
As per (2), Mr. Brown does not sell any pastries that have expired or use misleading labels. He also ensures that his bakery's license is up to date and that he follows the conditions of the license strictly.
In line with (3), he verifies the health of his employees and does not allow anyone showing symptoms of a contagious disease to work until they are fully recovered.
Following (4), when Mr. Brown sells wholesale batches of bread to a local supermarket, he provides a written guarantee or includes a statement in the invoice that assures the nature and quality of the bread.
Lastly, under (5), if a customer complains about a loaf of bread being moldy, Mr. Brown will assess the entire batch. If he finds that all loaves from that batch are at risk, he will remove them from sale, assuming the whole batch is unsafe, until proven otherwise.
