Example 1:
Scenario: Swearing-in Ceremony of a Union Minister
Context: Mr. Rajesh Kumar has been appointed as a new Minister for the Union. During the swearing-in ceremony, he is required to take an oath of office and an oath of secrecy as per the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India.
Oath of Office: "I, Rajesh Kumar, do swear in the name of God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, that I will faithfully and conscientiously discharge my duties as a Minister for the Union and that I will do right to all manner of people in accordance with the Constitution and the law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will."
Oath of Secrecy: "I, Rajesh Kumar, do swear in the name of God that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person or persons any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as a Minister for the Union except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as such Minister."
Example 2:
Scenario: Election of a Member of Parliament
Context: Ms. Priya Sharma has been elected as a Member of the House of the People (Lok Sabha). Before she can take her seat, she must take an oath or affirmation as per the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India.
Oath or Affirmation: "I, Priya Sharma, having been elected a member of the House of the People, do swear in the name of God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter."
Example 3:
Scenario: Appointment of a Judge of the Supreme Court
Context: Justice Anil Mehta has been appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Before assuming his duties, he must take an oath or affirmation as per the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India.
Oath or Affirmation: "I, Anil Mehta, having been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, do solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, that I will duly and faithfully and to the best of my ability, knowledge and judgment perform the duties of my office without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and that I will uphold the Constitution and the laws."
