Explanation using Example

Imagine a situation where the Central Government has declared a certain organization as a terrorist organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The organization believes this declaration is unjust and wants to challenge it. According to Section 37 of the Act, the Central Government must establish a Review Committee to assess the validity of the declaration.

In this case, the Central Government sets up a Review Committee comprising a retired High Court Judge as the Chairperson and two other members who are experts in legal and security matters. This Committee will review the evidence against the organization and provide a fair hearing to the representatives of the organization.

If the Committee finds that the evidence does not substantiate the claims, it might recommend that the Central Government revoke the declaration, thereby lifting the restrictions imposed on the organization.
