Imagine a tenant, Rachel, receives a notice from her landlord, Mr. Smith, to vacate her rented apartment within the stipulated time. The notice period ends, but Rachel offers to pay the rent for the following month. Mr. Smith accepts this rent without objection. By accepting the rent, Mr. Smith has shown his intention to continue the lease, thereby waiving the original notice to vacate.
