Explanation using Example

Imagine that Raj owns a piece of land. Without having the right to do so, Simran, who falsely believes she owns Raj's land, sells it to Karan and also gives Raj a car as part of the same deal. Raj now faces a choice. He can either:

  1. Accept the car and allow Karan to keep the land, thus confirming the sale, or
  2. Reject the car and keep his land, invalidating the sale to Karan.

If Raj chooses to keep the land, he must return the car to Simran or her heirs, and Karan may seek compensation from Simran's estate for the value of the land he thought he purchased.
