Imagine John gifts his house to his daughter, Emma, for her lifetime, and then to his grandson, Liam, provided Liam graduates from college by the age of 25. If Liam does not meet this condition (say he doesn't graduate college by 25), Emma's right to live in the house for her lifetime remains unaffected. The condition for Liam does not alter Emma's right to the property.
