Let's imagine a scenario where a company named "HealthyFoods Inc." applies for the registration of a new trademark for their upcoming product line. The application gets advertised as per the process. Another company, "NutriFoods Ltd." notices some similarities between their own trademark and the one HealthyFoods Inc. is trying to register.

As per Section 21(1), NutriFoods Ltd. can, within four months from the date of advertisement, give written notice to the Registrar about their opposition to the registration of HealthyFoods Inc.'s trademark.
