Explanation using Example
Consider a hypothetical scenario where an individual, Corporal Arjun, is a member of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Corporal Arjun is granted a week's leave to visit his family. His leave is scheduled to end on Sunday, but he fails to report back to his post until the following Wednesday, without providing any justification for overstaying his leave.
Upon his return, his commanding officer charges him with an offence under Section 21(b) of the Sashastra Seema Bal Act, 2007, for overstaying the granted leave without sufficient cause. As a result, Corporal Arjun faces disciplinary action and is brought before a Force Court where he could potentially be convicted and sentenced to imprisonment or another form of punishment as prescribed by the Act.
