Explanation using Example

Imagine a situation where a new policy is being discussed to revise the remuneration of certain government officials. In a meeting, someone asks, "Does this policy also apply to the top officials in our legislative assembly?" The chairperson refers to the Salaries and Allowances of Officers of Parliament Act, 1953, Section 2, to clarify that the policy would indeed apply to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha (Council of States), as well as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha (House of the People), as they are considered "officers of Parliament" under this Act.
