Imagine that after the formation of the states as per The Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966, the government of Haryana decides to divide a large district into two smaller districts for better administrative efficiency. Despite the reorganization already done by the Act, Section 8 allows the Haryana government to make such changes to the name, area, or boundaries of the district without being constrained by the provisions made during the reorganisation.
