Explanation using Example
Imagine a Revenue Officer named Mr. Singh, who has the power to assess land revenue in District A of Punjab. Mr. Singh is then transferred to District B as a Revenue Officer of the same rank. According to Section 26 of The Punjab Land-Revenue Act, 1887, Mr. Singh retains his powers to assess land revenue in District B automatically, unless the Punjab Government specifically orders that he should not have those powers in the new district.
