Explanation using Example
Imagine a business owner, Mr. Sharma, whose assets have been frozen because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) suspects the assets were involved in money laundering. Mr. Sharma believes the action taken against him is unjust and wants to challenge it in civil court. However, under Section 67 of The Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002, Mr. Sharma cannot bring a suit in civil court to modify or set aside the ED's proceedings or orders. Additionally, he cannot sue the officers involved for carrying out their duties in good faith under this Act. This section provides immunity to the government and its officers from such lawsuits, provided their actions are done in good faith.
