Explanation using Example
Imagine that the state of Karnataka has just implemented Chapter IV of The Pharmacy Act, 1948. The Karnataka State Government is now required to create a register of all pharmacists in the state. To comply with Section 29(1), they start collecting data from all pharmacists.
Once the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council is established, it takes over the responsibility, as per Section 29(2), to maintain this register. They update it with new pharmacists and any changes to current pharmacists' details.
For example, a pharmacist named Arjun Rao, who lives in Bengaluru and has just received his pharmacy license, will have his details entered into the register. This includes his home address, the date he was first registered, his pharmacy degree as his qualification, the address of the medical shop where he works, and the name of the shop owner as per Section 29(3).
