Explanation using Example

Imagine John, who lives in Mumbai, issues a cheque to Alice, who runs a business in Delhi. The cheque gets dishonoured. Under Section 106 of The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, Alice needs to notify John about the dishonour. Since they are in different cities, she must send the notice of dishonour by the next post or at least by the day following the dishonour to be considered within a reasonable time.
