The National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999

The National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999 was enacted by the Parliament of India to provide for the welfare of persons with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and multiple disabilities. The Act aims to create a National Trust for the welfare of persons with disabilities, which will undertake various activities for their welfare, including providing financial assistance, setting up residential homes and hostels, promoting research, and creating awareness about disabilities. The Act also provides for the appointment of guardians for persons with disabilities who are unable to take care of themselves.
