Explanation using Example

Imagine an officer of the National Security Guard (NSG) is found to be involved in an incident of public misconduct, such as using excessive force unnecessarily during a peaceful situation. This behavior is considered unprofessional and unbecoming of the high standards expected from an NSG officer. Following an investigation, the officer is charged and subsequently convicted by a Security Guard Court. As per Section 39 of The National Security Guard Act, 1986, the officer can face dismissal from service or any other punishment deemed appropriate under the Act, such as a demotion or a fine.
