Imagine a driver named Rohit is driving his car on a highway and decides to use his mobile phone to text. Unbeknownst to him, there is a regulation under Section 118 of The Motor Vehicles Act that prohibits the use of mobile devices while driving. A traffic officer spots Rohit and pulls him over. The officer informs Rohit that he has violated the regulations made under Section 118 and issues him a ticket. According to Section 177A, Rohit is now subject to a fine.
