The Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002

The Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002 was introduced to provide for the regulation of the operation and maintenance of metro railways in India. It outlines the powers and functions of the metro rail administration and the process for acquiring land for metro rail projects. The Act also lays down the responsibilities of metro rail employees and the safety measures that must be taken to ensure the safety of passengers.
