Explanation using Example
Imagine you go to a local grocery store and buy a kilogram of apples. The store has a practice of adding one or two extra apples to compensate for the weight of the bag, which is not mentioned in the price label. According to Section 12 of The Legal Metrology Act, 2009, this practice would be considered void as it allows the store to give you more than the specified quantity in the agreement (which is 1 kilogram as per the price label). The law requires that you receive exactly one kilogram of apples, no more, no less, unless the extra quantity is clearly specified in the transaction agreement.
