Imagine a man named Rajesh, who passed away without leaving a will. He is survived by his wife, Sunita, and two children, Aarav and Priya.
As per Section 33 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925:
- Sunita, as the widow, is entitled to one-third of Rajesh's property.
- The remaining two-thirds of the property will be equally divided between Aarav and Priya, the lineal descendants.
