Explanation using Example

Imagine a man named Raj who is already married to Simran. Without informing Simran or obtaining a divorce, Raj moves to another city. There, he meets Geeta and decides to marry her. He does not tell Geeta about his existing marriage to Simran. After the marriage with Geeta, the truth comes out, and Raj is charged under Section 495 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Since he concealed his first marriage from Geeta, he could face imprisonment for up to ten years and also be liable for a fine.
