Explanation using Example

Imagine a person named Raj who notices his neighbor, Vijay's, expensive bicycle unattended in their common residential building's parking area. Raj knows the bicycle belongs to Vijay and that Vijay has not given anyone permission to use it. Despite this knowledge, Raj decides to take the bicycle for a ride without informing Vijay, intending to return it before Vijay notices. Raj's action of moving the bicycle out of Vijay's possession without consent, with the intention of temporarily using it, constitutes theft under Section 378 of The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
