Explanation using Example

Imagine a scenario where a landlord, in a dispute over unpaid rent, locks a tenant in a room of the house for two weeks to coerce payment. This act of the landlord is a direct violation of Section 344 of The Indian Penal Code, 1860. The tenant, after being released or escaping, can report the incident to the police. The landlord can then be arrested and, if found guilty, can be sentenced to up to three years in prison and may also be fined for wrongfully confining the tenant for more than ten days.
