Explanation using Example
Imagine a scenario where a local jeweler, who has expertise in molding metals, is approached by an individual with a request to create a die that resembles the molds used by the mint to produce coins. The jeweler, aware that the individual intends to use the die to produce counterfeit coins, still proceeds with making the die for a hefty sum. Later, the police raid the jeweler's workshop and find the counterfeit die along with some fake coins. Under Section 233 of The Indian Penal Code, 1860, the jeweler can be charged for making an instrument intended for the purpose of counterfeiting coins, which is a punishable offense.
