Example 1:
Ravi sells to Suresh, by a written agreement, "my shop in Mumbai". However, Ravi does not own any shop in Mumbai. It is later discovered that Ravi owns a shop in Thane, and Suresh has been managing and operating this shop since the agreement was signed. Evidence can be presented to show that the agreement was actually referring to the shop in Thane, despite the incorrect mention of Mumbai.
Example 2:
Meena leases to Priya, by a lease deed, "my farmland in Jaipur". Meena does not own any farmland in Jaipur, but she does own farmland in Ajmer, which Priya has been cultivating since the lease deed was executed. Evidence can be introduced to demonstrate that the lease deed was intended to refer to the farmland in Ajmer, even though it mistakenly mentioned ...
