Imagine a scenario where Priya buys a smartphone from a retailer, and the retailer provides a warranty stating the phone's battery will last for at least 12 hours on a single charge. After a few weeks, Priya notices the battery only lasts for 6 hours. Discovering this breach of warranty, Priya can seek remedies such as a replacement battery, repair services, or compensation for the diminished value of the phone, as per Section 117 of The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
