Explanation using Example
Imagine that Priya buys a car from a dealership and receives the title document as proof of ownership. Later, she decides to sell the car to Rahul. Upon finalizing the sale, Priya hands over the title document to Rahul, effectively transferring her ownership rights to him. According to the principles reflected in the now repealed Section 102 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, Priya's right to the car ceases once she assigns the title document to Rahul. From that moment, Priya no longer has any legal claim to the car, and Rahul becomes the new rightful owner.
