Explanation using Example

Imagine that Rita lends her expensive camera to her friend Tom for a weekend photography trip. They do not sign any special contract regarding the care of the camera. Tom keeps the camera in a padded bag and locks it in his car while he is not using it, just as he would take care of his own camera. Unfortunately, while he is out, a sudden hailstorm damages the car and the camera inside. Since Tom took reasonable care of the camera, as outlined in Section 151, and there was no special contract stipulating additional responsibilities, under Section 152 of The Indian Contract Act, 1872, Tom would not be held responsible for the damage to Rita's camera caused by the unforeseen hailstorm.
