Imagine you've hired a caterer for your wedding, paying in advance for their services. However, before the event, the caterer's business is shut down due to legal issues, making it impossible for them to provide the catering on your big day. According to Section 65 of The Indian Contract Act, 1872, since the contract for catering services has become void due to unforeseen circumstances, the caterer is obligated to refund the advance payment you made.
