Explanation using Example

Imagine that Rita sells her car to John, claiming that the car has never been in an accident. In reality, the car had been involved in a major accident and repaired. John, believing Rita's statement, buys the car. Later, John discovers the truth about the car's history. According to Section 19 of The Indian Contract Act, 1872, John can choose to void the contract because his consent was obtained by misrepresentation.
