Sarah and John have been married for five years. Recently, Sarah discovered that John has been in an extramarital affair with another person. Feeling betrayed and concluding that the marriage has irretrievably broken down, Sarah decides to file for divorce. She approaches the District Court and files a petition for the dissolution of her marriage under Section 10(1)(i) of The Divorce Act, 1869, citing John's adultery as the ground for seeking a divorce.
